“Synergy works”
Gerasimos showed us the power of willingness and humanity. His life story is the most inspirational example for all of us, which proves that if we collaborate, we can overpass every difficulty.
If we would like to have a better future, we should not leave anything to luck… is what Gerasimos is doing to his everyday life. He claims, he supports, he contributes and he participates. After the accident which forced him to stay on a wheelchair, he decided to be extrovert and to continue his life as every other person. He is socially active and said he wants to break down racial discrimination against disabled people and to integrate them into society.
His vision for people in wheelchairs to enjoy the sea, led him to the innovative idea and invention Seatrac. This appliance, which allows people with mobility disabilities to get into the sea by themselves, contributes to our culture and consciousness: people must always think of others who are facing difficulties with their everyday life. The short documentary that Gerasimos showed is only three minutes long but manages in this little time to make direct references to culture, love, compassion, understanding and human rights to a better and more qualitative life.
